MORTON, Illinois, November 20, 2018 – Heavy Duty Trucking (HDT), a comprehensive publication that covers commercial, heavy truck fleet news, has recognized G&D Integrated as one of its Top 25 Green Fleets of 2018. The list showcases 25 of the most fuel-efficient, environmentally conscientious, alternative-fuel-forward fleets in the U.S.

According to HDT, this is its sixth annual recognition of the “greenest” fleets in the country. The Top 25 Green Fleet Award is based on a company’s long-term commitment to sustainability and attention to new green initiatives. In addition, HDT considered organizations that act as leaders in their industry, who promote fuel efficiency and alternative fuels, participate in pilot projects and continue to test new technologies.  Today, more fleets are focused not only on fuel efficiency and alternative fuels but also on larger measures such as freight efficiency to help shrink their carbon footprints.

G&D Integrated was recognized for its current green initiatives which include the use of biodiesel. G&D has made a strong commitment to run its Illinois-based fleet on biodiesel fuel because it is a renewable, clean-burning fuel which also reduces carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and particulate matter, all of which impact air quality. Over 66% of the fuel G&D uses in its Illinois fleets is biodiesel, in excess of 1.6 million gallons annually. This results in the reduction of 1,200 pounds of particulate matter per year.
