MORTON, IL May 9, 2019 – The Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk®, which provides funds for the breast cancer movement, will take place on May 11 in Peoria, IL. G&D Integrated, a provider of transportation and logistics based in the Peoria area, is actively supporting the More Than Pink Walk® this year with 45 participants including employees, family, and friends.

The Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk® Series (formerly Race for the Cure) is the world’s largest and most successful education and fundraising event for breast cancer. Every year, in cities around the globe, participants raise funds and awareness for the breast cancer movement, celebrate breast cancer survivorship, and honor those who have lost their battle with the disease. The majority of the net income raised by this event stays in the Peoria community to help fund vital, local programs which offer breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment. The remaining funds go toward the Susan G. Komen® Research and Training Grants program.

G&D’s workforce is participating in the Walk this year on a team named “G&D Pink Walkers”. The company plans to support the event with team t-shirts and paid entry fees for its employees as well as paid local radio advertising promoting the event. “We are honored to support our employees as they join together to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer programs in our community,” said Curt Fisher, vice president of client relations and marketing at G&D Integrated.

The annual More Than Pink Walk® in Peoria will take place this year on May 11 at The Metro Centre, 4700 N. University Street, Peoria, IL. The event site opens at 7:00 a.m. and the opening ceremony begins at 7:40 a.m. To register or participate in the event, visit https://komenmemorial.org/more-than-pink-walk/.
